A change connected to Einstein Activity Capture deserves administrator attention. As detailed by Salesforce Ben, Sync Email as Activity began being enabled automatically in more scenarios with Spring ’26, including existing EAC organizations without email sync already active. Messages may therefore begin appearing as CRM records without a new explicit opt-in step.

The financial impact comes from how the data is stored. Synced emails are written as Email Message and Task records, so they count against the organization’s data storage limit. Mature environments with busy sales or service teams can accumulate meaningful volume quickly and may only notice after usage has already climbed.

The publication reports that, at the time reviewed, administrators cannot turn the setting off after automatic activation, although an enhancement is planned without a committed date. Header-only capture can reduce volume, but it removes the subject and body and may limit AI features that depend on that context.

The practical response begins with visibility. Administrators should verify the EAC configuration, monitor Email Message and Task trends, project volume by team and define retention, cleanup or archiving policies. The goal is not to remove valuable context, but to align its cost with actual use and the AI capabilities the company intends to enable.
