Exposing thousands of APIs directly to an agent creates a problem before the first action: the model must spend context, time and tokens simply finding the right tool. The Headless 360 MCP Server, now in beta, introduces a smaller, stable layer between MCP-compatible clients and the breadth of the Salesforce platform.
The architecture is organized around four tools. Discover runs semantic search across APIs and skills; Describe returns contracts, parameters and dependencies; Dispatch executes the selected capability; and Dispatch Read Only limits execution to read operations. Behind this surface, an initial library of roughly one hundred skills can expand without bloating the catalog an agent must reason over.
The design preserves familiar platform controls. Every transaction uses the authenticated user's identity and respects CRUD, field-level security, sharing rules, profiles and permission sets. For admins and developers, that opens a path to automate Setup tasks, event-driven integrations, credentials and Apex while retaining auditability, human approval and the discipline of validating changes outside production.
